KQED’s Scott Shafer goes public on how to pitch NPR
Come see the face behind the voice. Scott Shafer, best known as the well-informed and trusted host of The California Report, a weekly newsmagazine broadcast on more than 35 stations statewide on KQED Public Radio, is the senior correspondent for KQED’s new multiplatform news and public affairs series, KQED NEWSROOM.
Scott will be our guest on April 28 to talk about KQED’s programming, how best to pitch stories to him and the KQED NEWSROOM, and what he sees as the big evolving stories and trends in the Bay Area today.
Scott hasn’t always been a radio host. Before coming to KQED, he worked for some of the top government officials in the Bay Area and California, including Gray Davis – prior to his gubernatorial stint – and Art Agnos when he was San Francisco Mayor.
Join us not only to hear Scott but also to recognize our five PRRT Scholarship winners of the Philip N. McCombs Scholarship Fund and be inspired by their passion for the profession.
