SF PRRT Board member and program chair Beverly Butler has been awarded a Volunteer Leave by her employer, Wells Fargo. For two months, Beverly will be behind a different desk: Theatre Bay Area, the non-profit service organization assisting the 300 theatres in the Bay Area. “ Wells Fargo pays my salary and benefits but I get to work full-time at a non-profit on whose Board I serve and whose mission is my passion. I will be developing the long-range marketing, major donor, public relations, and arts advocacy plans now that we’ve just finished a year-long strategic planning process, so the timing is perfect.”
The Volunteer Leave program was established by Wells Fargo in 1976 to recognize team members for their commitment to making communities a better place to live and work. Besides Theatre Bay Area and PRRT, Beverly serves on the Board of Playground (an incubator for new plays), the Mill Valley Public Library Foundation, The Richard de Lone Special Housing Project, and on the Advisory Board of the Brain Injury Network of the Bay Area. She is a member of the Dramatists Guild and the Playwrights Center of San Francisco.
