Taj Campton Place Hotel, 340 Stockton Street, San Francisco
Noon – 1:30 p.m.
(Doors open at 11:30 a.m. for networking)
For the past three years, the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (SFMOMA) has been closed while constructing a dramatic Snohetta-designed expansion to the museum. In anticipation of the museum’s reopening in 2016, join us on September 22 to go behind the construction barricade with Jennifer Northrop and learn how the reimagined SFMOMA will double in size, showcase the exceptional Fisher Collection of modern and contemporary art and the new Pritzker Center for Photography, expand its visitation and education programs for children, and become a major cultural and social hub in the SOMA district.
Jennifer Northrop is the director of marketing and communications for the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. She leads marketing and advertising, communications, community affairs, visitor experience and editorial communications for the museum. Guiding all museum marketing and communications strategies, policies and goals, she serves as a member of the senior management team.
Previously, Northrop was the director of communications and marketing at Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum in New York City for over 13 years. There, she successfully led the communications, marketing and community relations initiatives for the museum’s reopening in 2014, following a three year renovation. Prior to that, Northrop held positions with Polo Ralph Lauren in brand management and marketing in both Europe and the United States. Northrop is a founding member of NYCxDesign—New York City’s initiative to celebrate design within the city— and she helped launch its first official citywide celebration in 2013 bringing together numerous disciplines in design, commerce, culture, education and entertainment. She has won numerous Webby Awards.
