San Francisco’s beloved KQED Radio “Forum” host, interviewer, author and educator Michael Krasny, PhD, will join the SF PR Round Table on Tuesday, August 28, for a discussion about the myriad subjects he has explored, and people he has interviewed, over 35 years of work in broadcast journalism. Renowned for his well-researched, inquisitive and conversational interviewing style, Dr. Krasny has served for 25 years as host of “Forum,” the award-winning, locally produced daily radio program that explores topical subjects important to his Bay Area audience, including news and public affairs, culture, health, business and technology.
The celebrated author and journalist will share with us his approach to stories and issues, and how he and his editors select the topics and interview subjects for the show’s wide-ranging discussions of local, state, national and international issues and in-depth interviews. Please join us and be prepared to ask your own questions.
Since 1993, Dr. Krasny has interviewed many of the world’s leading figures on “Forum,” as well as countless local luminaries and experts. In addition to being an award-winning journalist, he is a professor of English at San Francisco State University and the author of three acclaimed books: Off Mike: A Memoir of Talk Radio, Literary Life and Spiritual Envy: An Agnostic’s Search; and Let There be Laughter: A Treasury of Great Jewish Humor and What It All Means.
Dr. Krasny will be joined by Dan Zoll, senior editor at “Forum” since 2008 and a former reporter and city editor at San Francisco Bay Guardian.
