Get Set for a Fantastic Fall
Nothing signals the end of summer like Labor Day—it’s still hot, but the changing light and shorter days are a sure sign of autumn’s approach.
Already, it’s been quite a year for the Round Table. Thanks to Program Chair Beverly Butler, we’ve had eight outstanding luncheon speakers. If you were lucky enough to make it to last week’s event with Edward Cotton, you were reminded of just how thought provoking and informative they have been. In fact, at the request of just about everyone in the room, Ed has provided his slide deck, which you can download here.
We also welcomed four new members during the first half of the year (Karmina Zafiro, Mary Thorsby, Peggy Flynn and Molly Walker) and awarded $15,000 in scholarships to five outstanding PR students.
As an organization, we primarily exist to provide a forum for senior public relations and communications professionals to meet and exchange ideas, and to support the future of our profession through the annual scholarship program. In many ways, fall is the unofficial start for many of these activities. In addition to a terrific speaker line up:
• Next month you’ll begin hearing a lot about the Holiday Party and Auction, which funds our scholarship program.
• In October we want you to invite your colleagues to a meeting and help grow the Round Table.
• Then, in early December, we’ll meet a top the St. Francis Hotel on Union Square for one of the Bay Area’s best holiday events.
Hang on – this fall will be a very fun ride!
