SF PR Round Table August 27 Event with Keynoter Douglas Fruehling, New Editor-in-Chief of the San Francisco Business Times
Join the San Francisco Public Relations Round Table on Tuesday, August 27, at Golden Gate University for lunch with Douglas Fruehling, the brand-new editor-in-chief of the San Francisco Business Times. Fruehling left the Washington Business Journal to start his new job in July.
“We are thrilled that Doug wants to be a part of the Bay Area community and lead our talented newsroom,” said Mary Huss, market president and publisher for the San Francisco Business Times and Silicon Valley Business Journal, in announcing Fruehling’s new role. “Doug is one of the most highly regarded editors in our company, and the Washington Business Journal is one of the best, known for quality business journalism.”
Already on record as saying San Francisco is “one of the most dynamic business markets in America,” Fruehling will share his personal story as a business editor in our nation’s capital and tell us why he decided to make the cross-country leap. We’ve asked him to talk about his dreams and expectations for his new role here, what’s likely to be different in his approach to covering business and government in the Bay Area, and his journalistic vision as he takes the reins of this important business periodical.
Plan to join us and learn how you can become a more effective resource for information and stories for the Business Times, ask questions and share your own San Francisco business stories with our speaker.
Fruehling served as editor-in-chief of the Washington Business Journal from 2009 to 2019, and previously was managing editor and senior editor. A graduate of Ohio University, he also served as managing editor at Roll Call and as a business reporter at the Journal Star in Peoria, Ill. He is a member of the Leadership Greater Washington Class of 2013.
