As we’re nearing the end of the year, I have lots to share about this wonderful association and our members—from our new Board and PRRT members to Holiday Party updates to membership renewal information.
I look forward to seeing you all at our November lunch with Adrienne Arieff, followed shortly by the Holiday Party.
2014 Board Members and Officers
The San Francisco Public Relations Round Table is governed by a board made up of 12 members. Four members of the board are elected each year to serve staggered terms of office. A term of office runs January 1 of the first year following elections through December 31 of the third year.
I am delighted to announce that the following members have been elected to serve for three-years, 2014-2016.
- Mary Currie, Golden Gate Bridge, Highway and Transportation District
- Michael Fineman, Fineman PR
- Eric Steckel, Turnpike Digital
- Terry Peckham, ABC, Manager, Global Marketing Communications, Rainin Instrument.
The Board has elected officers from among its members. Congratulations to our new officers for 2014!
- Chair: Mary Currie
- Vice Chair: Eric Steckel
- Treasurer: Debra Charlesworth
- Secretary: Hattie Hamlin
I would also like to thank the Nominating Committee for their work. Vivian Auslander chaired the group that included Beverly Butler, Elizabeth Risberg, Pat Harden and Mike Brown. Our professional development programs and scholarships would not be possible without all the work of our supportive volunteers.
Membership Renewal for 2014
Yes, the end of the year is now less than two months away. Please renew your annual membership for 2014 at Eventbrite. Don’t miss the opportunity to attend San Francisco Public Relations Round Table events at the member rate and have access to the members-only directory.
Holiday Party 2014
The annual Holiday Party is quickly coming up on December 10, 2013. Once again, we will celebrate at Victor’s, high atop the elegant Westin St. Francis Hotel on Union Square. The funny and opinionated team of Matier and Ross will be our keynote speakers.
The ever-exciting Silent Auction will offer a wide variety of goods and experiences, including an overnight stay at the Westin St. Francis. But we need your help in making this the best auction ever! Whitney Greer, Silent Auction chair, is still looking for more donations—experiences, gift baskets, one of a kind items. Please download the donation form and make a contribution! Or contact Whitney at whitney@brandularity.com for more information. All proceeds benefit the Philip McCombs Scholarship program, awarded annually to students aspiring to careers in public relations and communications.
Don’t miss this chance to see old friends and introduce colleagues to a great organization while enjoying a glass of wine, courtesy of the Hess Collection, and a lovely luncheon. You can even get some of your holiday shopping done at the Silent Auction.
Reserve now. Guests are welcome too!
In addition to your support, the success of this event is largely due to our corporate and agency sponsors. Our early sponsors deserve special recognition:

We’re over half way to our $5,000 sponsorship goal and invite you to participate. When registering for the event you can now contribute directly to the McCombs scholarship. And if your organization can participate at the Bronze ($500), Silver ($750) or Platinum ($1,000) levels, there are added benefits, so please contact Terry Peckham or Wendy Yellin, Holiday Party hosts.
New Members
We’ve added three new members to the San Francisco Public Relations Round Table: Nancy Hayden Crowley, Rikke Jorgensen and Blake Rhodes. You can read about them here.
